Fast Weight Loss
Losing weight is so difficult to most people. Diets suck, and it seems like most of them don’t work. There are several reasons that our weight loss efforts have not worked out in the past.
The most common mistake is undereating or skipping meals. Not eating consistently makes your body think you may not have food. This causes it to go into survival mode. Your body will store fat to use later on as energy to make up for missed meals. To keep your metabolism high, eat five to six small meals per day.
Another frequent flaw in nearly everyone’s diet is late-night eating. Eating before bed almost guarantees weight gain. You’re eating calories that will not be used, so they will be stored as fat. It is best to give yourself about three hours between your last meal and bedtime. During that time only allow yourself to drink water.
Many aspects of our lives affect our weight, but there are tons of things we can do about it. It all starts with eating right. Most of the time, eating right is just common sense. Obviously you shouldn’t eat fried food. Always go for baked or grilled, get a salad instead of fries or chips, wheat is better than white, and mustard is better than mayonnaise. See, common sense.
Besides the obvious, always read labels. Avoid food high in fat. When it comes to fruits and vegetables, fresh or frozen always beats canned. Canned fruit is stored in syrup. That’s a lot more sugar than usual, and you thought it was a “healthy” choice over a bar of chocolate.
Diet is going to come down to your will power, but don’t try to completely cut out your favorite food. The easiest way to stick to your diet is to be strict Sunday through Friday, and on Saturday, eat and drink whatever you want. One day out of the week isn’t going to kill your weight loss. You will be more successful in your diet by doing this. You still get to enjoy your favorite food, and you have a reward at the end of the week for all your hard work.
Obviously, losing weight is much easier when you’re working out regularly, so be sure to get an hour or more of high intensity exercise at least four days out of the week. This will cook through fat faster than you ever thought possible.
It took several years to get “fat”. Don’t lose sight of your goals. You’ll be there sooner than you think.
