Some people will stand by a low carb diet and its benefits in weight loss. However, there are different views as to whether it works for everyone. The body needs carbohydrates to function. How much? It differs from individual to individual and is determined by their lifestyles. A low carb diet forces the body to burn fat which is the basis of weight loss.
What is a low carb weight loss diet and how does it work?
Essentially, a low carb diet plan greatly restricts the amount of carbohydrates you consume. Why? Our body is built to burn carbohydrates for energy. When you eat low carb foods, your body is induced into burning stored fat for energy. The objective of a low carb diet is to get your body to convert fat to soluble waste in which form it can be easily excreted. If you understand this process, you will appreciate how you can eat more fat and protein and be able to lose weight.
Our early ancestors probably would not have had a problem with excess fat. This is because of their diet. They ate more meat, vegetables and fruit. If at all they consumed some carbohydrates, they would have been able to easily use it all up as their daily energy demands would have been far greater than ours. Further, we consume more carbohydrates than our system can manage due to all the junk food that is so readily available.

Generally, in the first phase milk, fruits, grains, cereals, pasta, breads and certain vegetables such as potatoes, peas, corn and carrots are taboo. Plenty of protein is used as replacements for the lack of carbohydrates.
It is the lack of carbohydrates which is a source of concern for many people. As carbohydrates are the first source of energy, the lack of it or the reduced amount, makes some people listless. Further, low carbohydrates have been associated to a number of medical conditions.

Find a weight loss program that offers a good balance and is not focused on just one factor.
