Maintaining a healthy diet is one of the best natural methods of inducing sleep. Digestion plays an important role in lulling you to sleep or in keeping you awake. Exercising and maintaining an environment with clean air are also important factors, so be sure to include these in your daily life. Furthermore, you should also make sure your bedroom is conducive to relaxation and sleeping. Your bed should be firm and comfortable, and the general surroundings should also be relaxing. A relaxing hot bath or soft music before bedtime can also calm down your nerves after a busy day. If possible, also try to avoid using electronics (TV, computer, telephone, etc…) within an hour of bedtime. Some studies show the use of electronics can disturb an otherwise good night’s sleep.
