Does Your Green Tea Fat Burner Have Too Much Caffeine?
The average green tea fat burner contains additional amounts of caffeine. In some cases, the diet aids increase your caffeine intake by 500mg per day. If you exceed that amount, you are likely to experience health problems.
A little caffeine is good for us. There is no doubt about that, but excessive amounts cause headaches, anxiety and insomnia. The stimulant triggers migraines and causes heart palpitations, which are not particularly dangerous, but not exactly healthy, either.
If you drink sodas, coffee or other caffeinated beverages, then you must include the caffeine-content that they provide when you are estimating your daily intake. For example, you might drink a 24 ounce cup of coffee in the morning and three or four diet cokes, every day. Your total intake then is already between 426 and 473mg per day. Adding another 500 to that would definitely cause you problems.
You won’t find a caffeine-free green tea fat burner, because the stimulant is one of the few compounds that are widely believed to increase fat oxidation (burn). But, you can find dietary supplements that include green tea extract. The extracts contain very small amounts of caffeine, but you would still get the extra burn.
Other nutrients that are proven to increase fat-oxidation include resveratrol, gingko biloba and chromium. Some of the better multi-nutritional supplements contain all of them.
If you have a long-term weight problem, you may want to consider a good multi-nutritional supplement instead of a single ingredient green tea fat burner. Here’s why.
It is known that decreasing calorie intake causes weight loss. But, what causes people to consume more calories than their body’s need? The answer; calories themselves are not satisfying. The body needs nutrients. Many of the foods that we eat today are loaded with calories and devoid of nutrients.
A good diet plan for weight loss is one that includes at least a half gram of protein per pound of body weight. If you weigh 180 pounds, that’s 90 grams of protein. You can look up the protein content of the foods that you ate yesterday. You may be surprised see how little you got. Protein is satisfying, because of its amino acid content.
If your body is not getting all of the vitamins, minerals, trace elements and amino acids that it needs on a daily basis, you will be more likely to overeat, because you will not feel satisfied. The multi-vitamins that are so popular won’t help much, mainly because they do not contain amino acids.
A green tea fat burner may help, but a multi-nutrient supplement that contains the extract will help more. There is no doubt in my mind about that. There may be other reasons that you tend to overeat, including boredom, but if you are overeating because of hunger, your body is not well nourished.
The idea that caffeine helps people lose weight seems a little silly, today. Just look at the people standing in line at your local Starbucks. How many of them are overweight? If you do decide to buy a green tea fat burner, be aware of the caffeine content. But, I’d suggest that you try a multi-nutritional supplement, instead.
